Creepy swimming pools

Paul McAuley tweeted a link to abandoned swimming pools today over at the wonderfully evocative Deserted Places blog.

Which reminded me of this photoshoot I did with Nico Krijno in crime doyenne Margie Orford‘s winter-neglected pool, all green and choked with leaves.

It was bloody freezing.

I swallowed half of it accidentally and mysteriously developed a throat-infection the next day.

But it was very, very Zoo City.

I confess I kind of like "the unlimited insanity".

Yes, if you're going to be insane, probably best not impose limits.

Indeed. Sometimes spam can be poetry too.

No one does scary swimming pools like JG Ballard - either fictionally ('The Voices of Time') or non- ('Empire of the Sun').
