Best Christmas Present Ever

Genius, hilarious writer friend Sam Wilson (aka @genrestories) proposed to his long-time scientist heroine girlfriend, Kerry Gordon, using a comic book illustrated by his friends to show 32 possible futures, depending on whether she said yes or no.

The final comic included work by amazing illustrators like Joey Hi-fi, Adam Hill and Emma Cook, storyboard artist Gareth Jones, animator Munki Groenewald, director/photographer Matthew Brown and non-professional drawing types too, including me, novelist Sarah Lotz (who admittedly once made a living doing casino murals) Kate Lefko-Everett & Helen Westcott. We’ve been plotting this for ages and it’s been so hard to keep shtum!

You can see the full thing here and I picked out some highlights (including the Edward Gorey rip-off I did that I’m quite proud of) below.

And of course she said YES.

Some of those comments on Boing Boing are Very Serious. How disappointing.

I think this is awesome. Congratulations to both of you.
