This Is Your Placatory Placeholder

I’m back from the Zoo City Five-Timezones-Four-Cities-Three-Continents-Two-Hemispheres-In-Two-Weeks Tour.

Jet-lagged is not so much the word as jet-fragged.

I’m still catching up with work and emails and thus have not written up a blog post about giving a talk under the martian at the British Library or reading at Borderlands and WorldCon and the New York Public Library or being interviewed on NPR’s Studio 360 by Kurt Anderson, or visiting Isotope, the coolest comic shop ever or having my Vertigo editor take me shopping (on my own account) and finding an awesome Bladerunneresque plastic D&G raincoat for me for $19.99, or the Hugo Awards or how Bill Willingham and I (but particularly me) were utterly and publicly eviscerated by the smooth-tongued Seanan McGuire on an ad-libbing gameshow performed live, on stage in front of 3000 people during half-time at the WorldCon Masquerade. Or how I got to hang out cool writers, librarians, architects, engineers, friends, fans, twitter friends, a NASA scientist, a very enthusiastic siphilis specialist and a real-life albino alligator.

So I’m still gonna do all that stuff. Soon. I promise.

But in the meantime, here’s a picture of the albino alligator. Who is called Claude. And who was creeptastically awesome. (Thanks Jayson & Sid!)
