Shine on, you certifiable Moxy fankids

So, at the Touch launch, I was pounced on by a pair of very bouncy hip young things, Wendy and Chris, who declared themselves Moxyland uberfans and proceeded to:

1. Threaten to start a “new spectro” band called Adam and the somethings (not really Adam and the somethings, I can’t remember the actual full name) ala the genre of music I totally made up for the novel.

2. Steal a toy rhino from The Book Lounge, wrap it in tinfoil and present it to me as a gift.

3. After a discussion about zombies which somehow involved Sarah Lotz (but then doesn’t every zombie discussion?), Chris said he was writing a story about a zombie called something like “Five Faces & A Teaspoon” (being the instrument said zombie would use to devour aforementioned five faces). I insisted that if he were to write such a story that one of the faces that gets devoured should be mine, as an appropriately twisted homage of sorts. He agreed, but then Wendy interrupted and said it was her story idea first. I suggested a race to write it and may have mentioned in passing that should she happen to break his fingers, she would have the advantage.

The evening ended with me exiting the Book Lounge with stolen rhino (I’ve offered to return it to its rightful home) and threatening them with a restraining order.

It was fantastic. Made my week.

Not as sweet and unassuming as they appear

Don't be mean to my fans. They were perfectly lovely. And quite wonderfully insane.

I suddenly feel very o-o-o-l-d. But then it's quite something that the Moxy beastie attracts fans from yrs truly to various discerning kitties to hip teenage lunatics...

We hosted a tea party last weekend, and the guests there ranged from 2 to 55 - all were jealous of TZ's Moxy and knew where he came from, attesting to the audience's range.
